Boyd’s Station Project Second Look
Boyd’s Station, a Harrison County, Kentucky nonprofit organization, is currently cataloging and archiving nearly 2,500 vintage 4-inch x 5-inch black and white negatives photographed by reporters and photographers from the Cynthiana Democrat between 1957 and 1961 in Harrison County, Kentucky.
The only data included for a third of the images included in this collection is the year and approximate date photographed. Many of the negatives have no related dates or info other than photographed between 1957 and 1961.
Names and locations are unknown. The goal is to archive and preserve this work and with the community’s help in providing names, dates, details, and the story behind as many of the photos as possible, Boyd’s Station will create an online archive dedicated to this amazing collection of images showcasing Harrison County 70 years ago.
Boyd’s Station will compile the information and archive it with each photograph to preserve the image and historic data. The overall goal is to preserve these important and priceless negatives while also providing a dedicated space online for the people and places documented in these photographs to be visible and archived online.
Images will continue to be added to this site periodically. Check back often and offer any information you may remember about these amazing photos.
